Adhesive Assembly
For assembly of 3D printed parts, use a cyanoacrylate (CA) adhesive (super glue).
-Ensure all mating surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust or debris.
-Apply a small amount of adhesive to one mating surface only.
-Align parts carefully and press together until the bond is secure.
-Allow adhesive to fully cure before handling the assembled model.
Important: Use adhesive sparingly. Excess adhesive may affect fit, surface finish, or detail quality. Follow the adhesive manufacturer's safety and handling instructions at all times.
-As CA glue reacts and dries quicker with moisture in the air, it can set quicker by blowing on the part.
-Baking Soda will also work, but we using an Accelerator in a aerosol can.
Extra Tip
We use CA glue as its the quickest way when we assemble models for orders.
We also keep a small bottle of De-Bonder if we mess up, the De-Bonder will break down the glue and allow you to reclean the surface and start again.
Dowels for the biggies!
On some of our bigger scales, we use dowels to pin the model togethert to aid with the glue up.
